This is another blog in the series about the governance of multi academy trusts. Concerns raised in my blogs over the last five years remain. The push towards total academisation of the school system in England magnifies those concerns. With academies being transferred from one trust to another and with forced academisation of so-called failing schools, the notion of schools belonging to, serving, representing, and being accountable to their local communities is vanishing off the horizon. This blog restates and explains my position that the charitable trust model of governance for academy trusts is unfit for purpose. This blog was written as a podcast and has links to the slides to be used.
