Geoff Taylor was a teacher for thirty three years, twelve of them as a Deputy Head of one of the largest schools in the country.  He is a director of GTA Associates Ltd, an education and healthcare consultancy. His work has included teacher training, threshold assessment of teachers and support and advice to governors in their assessment of the performance of headteachers.  He is company secretary of a multi-academy trust and clerk and consultant to the governors of its constituent academies.  He has been a long-serving member of the executive committee of Foundation, Aided Schools National Association for whom he has delivered seminars on school governance.
